Head Coach Sammy Gonzalez Jr
Sammy Gonzalez Jr. was born and raised in Hartford, CT, where he attended Hartford Public Schools.
He played in a Church basketball league for Sacred Heart and various recreational leagues in the Greater Hartford area during his youth.
He attended Providence College in Rhode Island, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During his collegiate years, he worked in the Athletics department as a Student Athletic Trainer and was a member of the Providence College Division 1 Women’s basketball practice team.
He is the proud father of Samaria and Eden, aspiring basketball athletes in the CT NorthStars program. Sammy’s love for basketball intensified as his children expressed interest in the game. He commenced coaching them in the West Hartford Girls Basketball Recreational Leagues and since then has honed in on his coaching techniques to become a proud coach for the CT NorthStars basketball program.
In his spare time, he enjoys working out, volunteering on youth sports leagues, cooking nutritious foods for his family and friends, and planning vacations! He and his family currently reside in West Hartford, CT, with their two dogs Oreo and Chico.
